10 structural changes needed in 2026 to confront racism in Brazil
Racism in Brazil is neither a behavioral deviation nor a problem limited to interpersonal relations. It structures the State, the market, public policies, and the distribution of rights. Confronting it requires deep political, economic, and symbolic shifts. In 2026, effectively confronting racism requires: Recognizing racism as a structuring force of society Racism determines who has access to rights, who is protected by the State, and who remains exposed to violence and prec

Hello 2026Take a look at our 2025 retrospective
Hello, 2026! 2025 was a year of struggle, transformation, and achievement. May there be more to come. The year began with the development of a feminist and anti-racist storytelling methodology, built collectively by professionals from different countries across the ActionAid federation, in Johannesburg. A collective, in-depth, and strategic process that placed narrative at the service of social justice. Still in the first half of the year, I took part in the 4th session of th

Black Women’s March
To march is to dream in motion. In 2015, more than 100,000 Black women marched to Brasília against racism, violence, and for Bem Viver (Well-being).They didn’t ask for space, they occupied it.They didn’t ask for a voice, they made themselves heard. In 2025, this call is renewed. To march is

Geneva | 2025
In the coming days, I will be in Geneva for the third time, now to take part in the United Nations Social Forum , one of the main global spaces for dialogue on human rights, social justice, and democracy. Representing ActionAid Brazil at this forum is always an honor and an opportunity to learn. With each new edition, I am reminded that the work for equity is built through encounters, listening, and collective action. This year, I will have the joy of participating in two si

Women by Women 2025
I’m in London, where I represented ActionAid Brazil at the exhibition Women by Women: Rooted in Resistance , organized by ActionAid UK at the Oxo Gallery. The exhibition presented powerful stories of women defending their territories, communities, and futures from destruction. Among them are the babaçu coconut breakers from Maranhão — quilombola women who turn resistance into livelihood and tradition. It was deeply moving to see Brazil among the protagonists of this edition.
